GTA Trilogy was in development for over two years, the developer confirms
The recent announcement of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — Definitive Edition has divided the fans in two groups. One was very excited about the remasters, and the other was bummed about stylistic changes and some censorship. The thing is Rockstar Games didn't develop the remasters, it was Grove Street Games studio, and it's CEO posted a new message celebrating the reveal.
Thomas Williamson, the co-founder and owner of Grove Street Games, confirmed that Grove Street had spent the past two years working on the game, describing it as a "hard quiet effort".
It seems strange that remasters were developed faster than VR-version of GTA: San Andreas that was recently announced for Quest 2. Blog post on official Oculus’ site claimed that the VR game is a “project many years in the making”.
