American Appetites — quest walkthrough in Red Dead Redemption

In this guide, you will learn how to find the cannibal in the Hanging Rock mountains and save an innocent victim in Red Dead Redemption.

This stranger's quest is divided into three parts. It becomes available only after completing the «Political Realities in Armadillo» quest.

Part One

Head to the question mark marker to talk to Grace Anderson.

The woman claims that her son went missing in the hills near Hanging Rock. After talking, a highlighted purple circle will appear on the map, where she believes her son disappeared. Head to the location.

Upon arrival, all you will find is a pool of blood, bones, and a boot lying on the ground. These are the remains of Grace's son, Ralph Anderson, but it is unclear who or what killed him.

Part Two

Head to the purple question mark again.

You will see a man on the sheriff's office porch with a similar story. The guy claims that his wife Beryl went to pick mushrooms in the Hanging Rock hills. Beryl disappeared in the same place where Ralph Anderson went missing.

You will have to go to the marked location on the map, where you will find that Beryl met the same fate as Ralph.

Part Three

After some time, return to Armadillo. You will find another woman with the same problem: her husband is missing, and she is expecting a child soon and doesn't know what to do.

Head to the marked point on the map. You will see an injured man named Randall. He will tell you that he was shot by some town resident but managed to escape.

After finishing the dialogue, you will notice that very man. Lasso his neck, and once you catch him, tie him up and bring him back to Randall.

As it turns out, the “attacker” was actually innocent and was about to become the next victim of the cannibal, who will be another man (no spoilers). Kill the injured guy, after which the quest will be considered completed.

Rewards:

• +50 Fame points;
• +100 Honor points;
• -100 Honor points if you allow the cannibal to eat the victim.
