Almost 6,000 Rockstar Employees Are Working on GTA 6 — Most of Them in India
According to the latest reports, all ten Rockstar Games studios around the world are currently involved in the development of GTA 6. The total team size has reached nearly 6,000 people — twice as many as were involved in creating Red Dead Redemption 2.
The largest share of the development team is based at Rockstar India, with 1,615 specialists.
Here’s how the staff is distributed across Rockstar’s studios:
- Rockstar India — 1,615;
- Rockstar North — 1,285;
- Rockstar Lincoln — 910;
- Rockstar New York — 750;
- Rockstar San Diego — 548;
- Rockstar Toronto — 267;
- Rockstar Leeds — 176;
- Rockstar New England — 143;
- Rockstar London — 122;
- Rockstar Dundee — 113.
This massive involvement from every division suggests that GTA 6 is shaping up to be a truly gigantic project — one that Rockstar itself calls “the biggest game launch in history.”
GTA 6 is currently in active development, with a release date set for May 26, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. As with previous entries, the PC version is expected to arrive later.
On the pricing side, a recent study by MIDiA Research showed that GTA 6 would generate more profit at a $69.99 price point. Meanwhile, Chris Stockman, design director of the original Saints Row, says he hopes the game will cost $100.
