Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now the fourth best-selling game of all time, surpassing Mario Kart 8. According to publisher Take-Two’s latest report, the game has sold over 79 million copies, with total franchise sales reaching 106 million. This also makes RDR2 the highest-grossing game in the US over the past seven years.

That puts RDR2 behind only Minecraft (350 million), GTA 5 (220 million), and Wii Sports (82.9 million). Notably, Rockstar still hasn’t released a version for current-gen consoles, despite persistent rumors from various insiders.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One, and made its way to PC a year later. The game has received “Very Positive” reviews on Steam and continues to enjoy high popularity.
