Rob Wiethoff, the voice of John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, recently stirred up the fan community with a cryptic teaser — and has now issued a follow-up statement to clarify his comments.

Earlier, Wiethoff hinted at some "exciting news" that many believed could be tied to the Red Dead franchise. Speculation quickly spread regarding a possible Red Dead Redemption 2 upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, or even a version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. However, the actor was quick to apologize, saying he had "possibly misled some people" and emphasized that he doesn’t speak on behalf of Rockstar Games.

Still, Wiethoff maintains that the news will make fans happy. Adding to the intrigue, Arthur Morgan’s voice actor, Roger Clark, has also acknowledged that he’s aware of an upcoming Red Dead announcement. According to Wiethoff, the reveal is expected to happen before June 20.

It’s worth noting that Rob Wiethoff recently decided to play Red Dead Redemption for the very first time, 15 years after its release.
