Rumor: Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Getting Next-Gen Upgrade for Modern Consoles

Gamereactor has shared exclusive information suggesting that Red Dead Redemption 2 may soon be released on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, the acclaimed open-world title could be getting a next-gen update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
According to the outlet's sources within Rockstar Games, a port of RDR2 is indeed in development for Nintendo's new console — with a potential launch window as early as this year.
As for the next-gen update, it may release either alongside the Switch 2 version or shortly afterward. The patch is expected to enhance visual fidelity and improve overall performance on modern systems.
Red Dead Redemption 2 celebrates its seventh anniversary this year. Originally released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game later launched on PC in 2019. Most recently, Arthur Morgan’s voice actor joked about the lack of 60 FPS support on current-gen consoles.
