YouTuber EnzoElRich YT has taken on the ambitious task of remaking part of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004) using Unreal Engine 5. In his latest video, he showcases the intro and early gameplay moments of the original game, now rebuilt with modern visuals.

According to the creator, this is not just a mod but a full-fledged remake. EnzoElRich reworked the user interface, upscaled textures for higher quality, and recreated several gameplay mechanics such as car repair, radio stations, healing, weapon systems, and more. The project also utilizes modern technologies like MetaHuman, NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Frame Generation, and Lumen for advanced lighting. However, the animations remain faithful to the original — you can see the results in the video below.

It’s unclear whether the project will evolve beyond a playable demo, but EnzoElRich YT has promised to showcase more remake-style content in the future.

For reference, a version of GTA: San Andreas for PS3 was recently made playable on Android.
