A mod editor for GTA Online may be released by the end of the year

In 2023, Rockstar announced a partnership with the creators of the FiveM role-playing server for GTA Online. According to GTA Focal, a few months later the company fired the platform's founder and some employees.
The report also states that Rockstar worked on a "FiveM killer" in 2021, but the project was set on hold. Currently, the company is working on the ROME (Rockstar Online Modding Tools) modding toolkit, which is also expected to replace FiveM. It is assumed that it will become available by the end of this year.
ROME will also be integrated into GTA 6, but there are no details on this yet. However, it is already clear that the developers will surely try to monetize the service through microtransactions.
GTA 6 will be released in the fall of 2025. Previously, fans reviewed the debut trailer and discovered several new details.
