It seems Grand Theft Auto 6's multiplayer won’t be launching alongside the base game, contrary to some expectations. Twitch's Chief Monetization Officer, Mike Minton, also has hinted at Rockstar Games' likely timeline for the PC release as well.

In an interview with MeinMMO, Minton stated that Twitch is working closely with Rockstar to support GTA 6's launch. According to him, the streaming platform is preparing one of its biggest promotional efforts to date, which will begin with the release of the single-player campaign — suggesting multiplayer features will arrive at a later stage.

He also didn’t rule out the possibility of official RP (roleplay) servers for GTA 6. While details are still under wraps, Rockstar is reportedly exploring long-term multiplayer support, including potential modding tools and RP infrastructure.

As for the PC version, Twitch leadership believes it will likely be released after multiplayer functionality is added.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

For reference, a recent leak hinted at multiple graphic modes and performance options for the console version.
