It looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 might include a home customization feature. A theory gaining traction on Reddit suggests that certain scenes from the game’s second trailer show Jason and Lucia’s house changing over time, possibly reflecting in-game upgrades.

Reddit users FaultExcellent3306 and More__Soup analyzed the trailer frame by frame and noticed subtle hints that the characters’ home might be customizable. For instance, early in the trailer, a wall appears unfinished and missing panels—but in a later scene, the same wall looks fully repaired. Other small details include a roll of blinds leaning against the wall, possibly waiting to be installed.

These visuals have also sparked another fan theory: that Lucia may be imprisoned midway through the story rather than before it begins. The theory suggests that Jason, left alone and visibly worn out, spends time fixing up their home while waiting for Lucia. Meanwhile, Lucia could receive a lead on a major job while in prison—setting the stage for the couple’s return to action after her release.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Recently, fans recreated the second trailer using GTA: San Andreas, giving it a nostalgic PlayStation 2-era twist. You can find the most detailed breakdown of the trailer in our full article.
