While the delay may have benefited a few upcoming titles — such as Marathon, Ghost of Yotei, The Outer Worlds 2, and Ninja Gaiden 4 — giving them breathing room, Schreier reports that many studios haven’t been so lucky. Emergency meetings have reportedly taken place at several companies.

Despite the reaction, Schreier believes the panic may be premature. He pointed out that recent overlapping releases — like the Oblivion remaster and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — show that players are willing to embrace more than one major release at a time.
