Former Rockstar North Technical Director Shares His Thoughts on the Second GTA 6 Trailer

Former Rockstar North technical director Obbe Vermeij has shared his thoughts on the second GTA 6 trailer, which, by the way, has already racked up nearly 40 million views.

“Looks great. The characters and the story look interesting. The city looks beautiful. It's like watching a movie,” Vermeij wrote.

He also posted some additional reflections on his X page after watching the trailer. For instance, Vermeij believes that we probably won’t see a full gameplay trailer anytime soon, as the developers will likely be focused on polishing in-game elements like animations, weapon switching, and getting in and out of vehicles.

Vermeij also called Rockstar’s decision to release the second GTA 6 trailer a year ahead of launch a “smart move,” as it helped many gamers move past the recent delay and shift their focus to all the new features that were shown.

When asked what it’s like to watch the series evolve without being involved in development, Vermeij replied: “It's great. No pressure. I don't have to worry about the bugs. I can just enjoy it.”

It’s worth noting that Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5, also reacted to the recent trailer: “Got a trailer AND a date. Let the #FanGirling begin. Jason bout to be crowned Prettiest Protag ever. Dude is jacked and good looking? Hearts boutta be pounding.”
