Take-Two CEO Commented on GTA 6 Delay to 2026

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has released an official statement regarding the delay of Grand Theft Auto 6. The head of the publishing company voiced his support for Rockstar Games’ decision to postpone the release.
We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto 6, which promises to be a ground-breaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations.
While we take the movement of our titles seriously and appreciate the vast and deep global anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence.
According to VGC, Take-Two still expects GTA 6 to deliver record-breaking sales during the 2026–2027 fiscal years.
As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto 6 is now scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Earlier, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier noted that many developers at Rockstar had long doubted the game would make its originally planned fall 2025 release window.
