Take-Two CEO Explains Why Rockstar Is In No Hurry to Release GTA 6 Trailer 2

There are only a few months left until the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, but Rockstar Games still hasn’t released a a second trailer. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick explained the developer’s motives.
In a recent interview for Bloomberg, he said that Take-Two has reconsidered its approach to the marketing campaign. Apparently, materials for the game, including the second trailer, will start coming out closer to the release date:
The anticipation for that title maybe the greatest anticipation I’ve ever seen for an entertainment property. And I’ve been around the block a few times and I’ve been in every entertainment business there is. We want to maintain the anticipation and the excitement. And we do have competitors who will describe their release schedule for years in advance. And we found that the best thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation
Recall that the release of GTA 6 is scheduled for this fall for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Trailer 1 for the action game was shown on December 5, 2023.
Earlier it became known that a number of publishers are ready to move the releases of their projects so as not to come under pressure from the new Rockstar Games game.
