GTA 6 named most anticipated game at Golden Joystick Awards 2024

The Golden Joystick Awards 2024 ceremony, celebrating the best in gaming as voted by players, took place on November 21st. Among the winners, Rockstar Games secured a coveted award for their highly anticipated title.

Grand Theft Auto 6 triumphed in the Most Anticipated Game category, beating out stiff competition from a star-studded lineup including Monster Hunter Wilds, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Exodus, Skate, Mafia: The Old Country, South of Midnight, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Slay the Spire 2, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Deadlock, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Sid Meier's Civilization 7, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Fable, Light No Fire, Ghost of Yotei, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Atomfall.

Elsewhere, the player-voted Game of the Year went to the Chinese action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, while critics crowned the co-op shooter Helldivers 2 as their top pick.

It's worth noting that Grand Theft Auto 6 recently also received a nomination for The Game Awards 2024, further cementing its position as one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year.
