Former Rockstar technical director comments on GTA 6 delay rumor

Obbe Vermeij, former technical director at Rockstar Games, recently addressed the rumor about the delay of GTA 6's release date. He also believes that the game will sell for over a decade and will face no significant competition during that time.
«The decision to delay gtaIV was made 4 months or so before the original release date. Any further and it's hard to make the call. R* is probably not in a position to determine whether they will hit 2025 until May-ish. Also: GtaVI will sell for 10+ years and there is no competition to worry about. They are not going to release the game until they're 100% happy with it. No matter what it said in the trailer. I have no inside info. Didn't talk to anyone», — stated Obbe Vermeij.
Previously, Obbe Vermeij praised a fan-made port of GTA 3 for the Sega Dreamcast.
As for GTA 6, the rumor about the game being delayed to 2026 has already been debunked by reputable insider and journalist Jason Schreier.
