GTA 6 may raise the minimum price of AAA games, believes a Larian employee

Currently, big-budget games cost $70, but soon they may become even more expensive. Larian Studios' publishing director Michael Douse shared that many studios want to raise prices but are wary of players' reactions.
GTA 6, rumored to be significantly more expensive than $70, could influence the situation. Recently, Take-Two's head Strauss Zelnick dodged a question about the game's price, which might hint at upcoming changes.
"Almost all games should cost more at a base level because the cost of making them (inflation, for one) is outpacing pricing trends. But I don’t think we’ll get there with DLC promises so much as quality & communication. Everyone’s just waiting for GTA6 to do it lol," wrote Michael Douse.
GTA 6 will be released in the fall of 2025. The game will be available only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
