YouTuber Screengraphy has released an ambitious project on his channel that transforms the story of Grand Theft Auto 5 into a hardcore action movie running nearly nine hours long. The video was “shot” with a cinematic camera and enhanced with proper film-style effects.
“GTA V: The Movie is a seamless 9-hour epic crafted from nearly all of my previous Grand Theft Auto 5 short films that I spent the past 2 years working on. Every mission has been edited to flow like a feature-length film. I hope you all enjoy while we're all preparing for the release of GTA 6.” — Screengraphy
The fan filmmaker also included the original game’s alternate endings. While the main film concludes with the canonical finale, Franklin Clinton’s nightmares showcase the other possible outcomes of the story.
The fan tribute to GTA 5 has already garnered more than 50,000 views, hundreds of likes, and plenty of praise from the YouTube community:
“9 hours?! Now this is THE GTA 5 Movie. The camera work is amazing.” — xKennyy

Interestingly, GTA 5 recently celebrated its 12th anniversary — the game was first released in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox One. Despite its age, it continues to attract a massive audience and sells steadily thanks to GTA Online.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games is preparing for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on May 26, 2026, which the studio expects to be the biggest launch in video game history.
