Take-Two Reveals Updated Sales Figures for GTA and Red Dead Redemption Series

Take-Two has released its financial report for the past quarter ending June 2025, sharing new sales data for its top franchises and games.

  • GTA series: nearly 455 million copies sold (+5 million over the quarter). GTA 5 alone remains at 215 million units;
  • Red Dead Redemption series: over 104 million copies (+4 million over the quarter), with RDR 2 accounting for more than 77 million (+3 million over the quarter). RDR 2 continues to be the highest-grossing game in the US over the past seven years;
  • NBA 2K: more than 162 million copies sold (+2 million over the quarter);
  • Borderlands series: over 94 million copies sold (up by about 1 million over the quarter). Borderlands 2 has topped 30 million, while Borderlands 3 has surpassed 23 million (+1 million over the quarter);
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization: almost 77 million copies sold (+1 million over the quarter).

In total, Take-Two boasts 13 franchises with individual games that have each sold over 5 million copies, as well as 15 mobile titles ranking in the top 200 highest-grossing games in the US.

Financial highlights:

  • Net bookings: $1.42 billion (+17% year-over-year);
  • GAAP net revenue: $1.50 billion (up from $1.34 billion a year earlier);
  • GAAP net loss: $11.9 million.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick noted that GTA Online saw a boost thanks to the release of the second GTA 6 trailer and the summer Money Fronts update. The number of new GTA Online players jumped by more than 50% compared to last year.
