CD Projekt has announced on GOG’s official X page that a poll is underway to bring GTA 4 to the DRM-free digital storefront.
“If you’d like to go bowling with cousin Roman on GOG (we sure would), then cast your vote, share your stories, and help us make it happen!” said CD Projekt.
At the time of writing, the idea has already received support from 18,000 users.
Here’s how gamers are reacting:
“You madlads you're about to preserve a classic! I love you gog!” — DeimosLord666.
“Wishful thinking, BUT it would be excellent,” — __silent_.
“if they do come to gog ,i hope they are all 1.0 version before r* went ahead with sanitization of these games and deleted radio songs etc,” — MuK00I_.
“Maybe 1-3 first?” — KenobiStig.
“And don't forget about the original GTA trilogy and other Rockstar games,” — VtrDenis.
Of course, even if the poll gets a record number of votes, it doesn’t guarantee that GTA 4 will be released on GOG. However, it does show Rockstar Games just how much gamers want to see the title on CD Projekt’s digital platform.
GTA 4 originally launched in April 2008 on PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC release following in December of the same year. Previously, we reported on a graphics mod that gave the game’s visuals a significant refresh.
