According to well-known insider Tez2, Rockstar Games may be developing remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto IV and Max Payne 3, with plans to release them back-to-back starting later this year.

Tez2 claims that someone at Rockstar hinted at the development of a GTA IV port. This may also explain the recent removal of a fan mod that attempted to bring Liberty City into the GTA V map. The remaster has allegedly been in production for about a year, with a potential release window set for late 2025. Speculation suggests Rockstar could be aiming to reintroduce players to the city connected to Lucia Caminos’ mother, a key character in GTA 6.

Following that, the studio might shift focus to a Max Payne 3 remaster. Tez2 believes this release could come as a bundle, including remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 alongside the remastered third installment. If true, fans can expect this collection sometime in 2026.

It’s worth noting that Grand Theft Auto IV recently marked its 17th anniversary. The original launched in 2008 on PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version arriving shortly after.
