One of the founders of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, has secured a publisher for his upcoming game, which will be released by his new company, Absurd Ventures. A new press release also reveals several details about the upcoming project.
Absurd Ventures and South Korean company Smilegate first announced their partnership back in December of last year — at the time, Smilegate invested a significant amount into the growth of Dan Houser's studio. Now, the publisher and developer of Lost Ark will be financing and publishing the upcoming project from the Rockstar co-founder. According to the announcement, it will be a "AAA, open-world, sci-fi action-adventure game, set in its mind-bending A Better Paradise universe," currently in early development.
The press release also revealed that other Rockstar veterans are involved in the game, including Lazlow Jones and Michael Unsworth. In addition, the team includes developers who have worked on successful projects such as Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Valorant, Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and more.
Recently, the first issue of the American Caper comic series was announced, which will provide deeper insight into the A Better Paradise universe — the setting for Dan Houser’s upcoming games following his departure from Rockstar.
