Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, has announced his latest creative venture — a comic book series titled American Caper, developed in collaboration with other Grand Theft Auto veterans. The first issue is set to release on November 12 and will be priced at $4.99.

American Caper tells the story of two dysfunctional American families trying to survive amidst political chaos and economic hardship. The narrative follows a diverse cast, including a Mormon hitman, a washed-up lawyer, a fugitive Mexican model, a pair of escaped convicts, a Wall Street billionaire-turned-cowboy, and a vengeance-obsessed maniac.

Former Rockstar developer Lazlow Jones also contributed to the writing. The comic will be published by Dan Houser’s company Absurd Ventures in partnership with Dark Horse Comics, with a planned run of 12 issues.

This is one of several new projects from Houser following his departure from Rockstar. He previously launched the audio drama A Better Paradise, which you can read more about here.
