Layoffs have taken place at Build a Rocket Boy studio, founded by Leslie Benzies, the former head of Rockstar North. Initially, this was reported by the media, and later confirmed by the developers.
The studio did not disclose the exact number of people who were laid off. It is only known that the reductions affected all three offices located in Edinburgh, Budapest, and Montpellier. The largest number of employees were let go from the publishing department, art department, and testing department. Build a Rocket Boy has assured that they will provide support to all employees affected by the layoffs.
Currently, the studio is working on Everywhere, an ambitious sandbox game where players can create their own games. The project is being developed on UE5. There is no release date announced for the project yet.
