The Hanging of Bonnie MacFarlane — Red Dead Redemption Mission Walkthrough

This guide will show you how to save Mrs. MacFarlane in Red Dead Redemption from the dire consequences related to the tragedy at the ranch.

Go to Marshal Johnson and watch the cutscene. We learn that Bonnie has been kidnapped by bandits, and at this moment one of the brave men arrives to talk to the Marshal. From him, we learn that Bonnie is alive and well. But you can only get her back by exchanging Norman Deek — the criminal you put in custody.

Your task is to deliver Norman to Tumbleweed within two hours. If you fail to do this within the specified time, the mission will be considered failed. Mount your horse and head out following the Marshal. Upon arriving in Tumbleweed, watch the cutscene, then lead Norman to the center of town.

However, the arriving bandits show their dishonesty in all its glory — Bonnie is not with them, and they open fire. Shoot back at the enemies while following the blue marker on the map.

Upon reaching the indicated point and defeating all the villains, untie the woman and watch the cutscene. Immediately after this, you will receive a reward of +75 points to the Fame parameter.
