San Andreas remains the most extensive part of the series. Three large cities are impressive even by today's standards. And if you've already completed the single-player mode, SAMP with dozens of servers is at your service, which remains popular even after the release of GTA: Online. Today, playing San Andreas comfortably without mods is almost impossible. In this article, we will explain how to install them.

Installing Mods Using the Modloader Manager for the Standard Version of GTA: San Andreas

This option is relevant for the version of San Andreas that was released on PC in 2005.

  1. Install a clean version of GTA: San Andreas without modifications.
  2. Download the mod manager called ModLoader.
  3. Unpack the archive into the game folder.
  4. Download the modification and copy it into the ModLoader directory.
  5. Launch GTA: San Andreas.
  6. Open the settings menu and find the Mod Configuration section.
  7. Select the modification you need and activate it.

This way, you can manage mods, enabling and disabling them at your discretion. But keep in mind that some of them use the same resources, for example, replacing the same vehicle. Such modifications should preferably not be activated simultaneously, as various technical problems and bugs may arise.

Manual Installation of Mods on the Standard Version of GTA: San Andreas

If ModLoader does not launch your modification, it is installed differently. Study the information on the site where you downloaded it. You may need to run an executable file or transfer the contents of the archive to a specific folder.

Manual Installation of Mods for the Remaster GTA San Andreas: The Definitive Edition

This method is suitable for those who will be installing modifications on the reissue of San Andreas from the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition collection.

  1. Download the mod archive and unpack it.
  2. Open the folder GTA San Andreas — Definitive Edition\Gameface\Content\Paks\ and create a directory ~mods. If you already have it, skip this step.
  3. Copy the modification files into the ~mods folder.
  4. Launch the game.
