How to Install Mods on GTA 4 Using OpenIV
This method can be used to install modifications related to textures and models.
- Install the standard version of GTA 4 without modifications.
- Download and install programs such as OpenIV, ASI Loader (for scripts), and GTA IV Vehicle Mod Installer (for vehicles).
- Create a mods directory in the game folder.
- Download the modification and copy it into the mods directory or the root folder of GTA 4.
Some mods, such as those using ReShade technology, require installation through their own executable file. We recommend reading the mod's description first before starting the installation.
How to Install Mods on GTA 4 Using IV Tweaker
This method can activate modifications with extensions .wdr, .wdd, .wft, and .wtd.
- Install the standard version of GTA 4 without modifications, version 1080. Download the relevant files or use the program GTA IV Downgrader.
- Download and install IV Tweaker, as well as the utility ASI Loader.
- Download the modification and copy it into the IV Tweaker directory.
If both methods do not work, carefully review the mod installation instructions. Typically, they are posted on the site where you downloaded it or in the modification archive.
