GTA 5 Tips: How to Obtain a Jetpack

Rockstar Games' titles are always filled with numerous references to specific individuals, hints at various events from computer games and other media products. Especially in the Grand Theft Auto series, which is always positioned as a subtle, sarcastic satire on modern American life.

GTA 5 is no exception to this rule. It also contains many secrets, Easter eggs, and hidden features that often appear on popular gaming resources. To this day, curious players periodically find something new.

If you don't know what it is, a jetpack is literally a rocket backpack, a portable device attached to a person's back that allows them to soar into the air without any additional equipment. A kind of individual Boeing in miniature, flying on the same principle as all modern airplanes — using jet engines.

In the GTA series, the jetpack was relevant in San Andreas, where the main character could find it and then use it as intended — fly over the city and admire the surroundings.

It's no surprise that such a feature was liked by the majority of players, which is why players constantly wonder how to get a jetpack in GTA 5. The belief in its existence significantly strengthened when one of the game owners found a mysterious map at the very top of the mountain called Chiliad. It depicts a scheme of either underground passages under the mountain or a piece of the game world map, with rectangles marking the location of certain objects. Here's a screenshot of the map:

At the very bottom, you can see three icons. The first resembles a UFO, which is also a rather interesting Easter egg from the developers. The second is an egg. And the third is a figure of a person with the coveted jetpack.

The UFO was found almost immediately in 2013. The mysterious egg appeared in the "Gunrunning" update in 2017 (a secret mission to steal raw materials, where the egg needs to be stolen from a crashed flying saucer near Fort Zancudo). Finally, in the same year 2017, with the release of the "Doomsday Heist" update, the jetpack appeared.

The jetpack was named Thruster, and it can be purchased on the Warstock Cache & Carry website for $3,657,500 (or for $2,750,000 if you complete the third act of the "Doomsday Heist").

Thus, it can be definitively said that there is no jetpack in the single-player mode of GTA 5. It is only available in GTA Online and can only be obtained for virtual currency.
