Accuracy International AS50 is an English large-caliber sniper rifle developed by Accuracy International Ltd.
Rifle cartridges of 12.7 * 99 mm caliber (M99B-II) are used for firing from AS50.
Technically, it is a self-loading rifle with a gas-operated automation mechanism.
The rifle is equipped with an optical sight.
The large-caliber AS50 sniper rifle is the latest development of the legendary English company Accuracy International Ltd.
This rifle was created specifically for use by army special operations forces,
to combat material assets and unarmored or lightly armored enemy military equipment.
The AS50 rifle was first demonstrated to the general public in January 2005 at the ShotShow-2005 exhibition in the USA,
it is currently being tested in units of the US Special Operations Forces.
The AS50 rifle is self-loading, uses gas-operated automation with a gas piston located above the barrel and locking by tilting the bolt down.
The receiver is made of steel. The massive barrel is equipped with a muzzle brake and is cantilevered inside a short perforated forend-casing.
A Picatinny rail-type rail is made along the entire upper surface of the receiver and forend for installing various optical and night sights.
Two additional short rails are made on the sides of the forend, on which LCUs or other accessories can be attached.
The rifle is normally equipped with a light folding bipod with adjustable support length,
as well as an additional rear folding handle under the butt, which can additionally act as a rear support.
For maintenance, compact storage or transportation, the rifle can be quickly disassembled into its main components,
and then just as quickly assembled and put into combat position.

Винтовка AS50 самозарядная, использует газоотводную автоматику с расположенным над стволом газовым поршнем и запиранием перекосом затвора вниз.
Ствольная коробка выполнена из стали. Массивный ствол оснащен дульным тормозом и консольно вывешен внутри короткого перфорированного цевья-кожуха.
По всей верхней поверхности ствольной коробки и цевья выполнена направляющая типа Picatinny rail для установки различных оптических и ночных прицелов.
Две дополнительных коротких направляющих выполнены по бокам цевья, на них могут крепиться ЛЦУ или иные аксессуары.
Винтовка штатно комплектуется легкой складной сошкой с регулируемой длиной опор,
а также дополнительной задней складной рукояткой под прикладом, которая дополнительно может выполнять роль задней опоры.
Для обслуживания, компактного хранения или транспортировки винтовка может быть быстро разобрана на основные компоненты,
а потом так же быстро собрана и приведена в боевое положение.
