Description:
The GAZ-M72 is an all-wheel-drive vehicle produced in the USSR from 1955 to 1958. It features a slightly
modified and reinforced body from the GAZ-M20 "Pobeda", adapted for four-wheel drive. The front axle,
transmission, and transfer case were borrowed from the GAZ-69, while the rear axle was unique to the GAZ-M72.
The interior is similar to the "Pobeda". Essentially, it was the first mass-produced comfortable off-road vehicle with a closed body.
Later, in 1957, the MZMA developed an all-wheel-drive version of the "Moskvich-402" under the index "410", which was
subsequently upgraded. After that, all-wheel-drive passenger cars were rarely produced until the creation of the VAZ-2121 "Niva" in 1977.

ГАЗ-М72 - полноприводный автомобиль производства СССР(1955-1958). Представляет собой слегка
видоизменённый и усиленный кузов от ГАЗ-М20в "Победа", поставленный на полный привод. Передний мост,
трансмиссия и раздаточная коробка позаимствованы от ГАЗ-69, задний мост был уникальным для ГАЗ-М72.
Салон аналогичен "Победе". По сути, это первый серийный комфортабельный внедорожник с закрытым кузовом.
Чуть позже, в 1957, на МЗМА сделали полноприводную версию "Москвича-402" под индексом "410", который был
впоследствии модернизирован. После него полноприводными легковыми автомобилями почти не занимались вплоть
до создания ВАЗ-2121 "Нива" в 1977 году.
