Introducing the MAT-49. The MAT-49 is a submachine gun that was developed by the French arms factory Manufacture Nationale d'Armes de Tulle (MAT) for use by the French army. Production began in 1949 and ended in the late 1970s with the widespread adoption of the FAMAS assault rifle.
