This is a sports car, the platform for which was the "five" E28. The concern presented it in Amsterdam at the end of the winter of 1984. For three years, the BMW M5 E28 was assembled by hand in Germany. Therefore, by the end of 1987, only 2191 pieces were produced. Note that at the time of release, the car was the fastest sedan in the world launched into mass production. The sports version has different bumpers and on the trunk lid and radiator grille the M5 nameplates are visible. Under the hood, an in-line, 286-horsepower, six-cylinder M88/3 engine was installed. Предельная скорость трехобъемника достигала 245 км/ч. В 1988 г. М5 Е28 сошел с конвейера. На смену ему пришла М5 Е34.
