"Marked by the Zone" are neither humans, nor mutants. Their physical appearance and spirit world have been greatly altered. These are, as a rule, "initiated into the secrets of the Zone". Some believe that it is they who control all the processes of the Zone - mutants, anomalies and even something more global. If they do not like some stalker or even a mutant, they can punish him, or on the contrary, for example, help the stalker get out of the maze of anomalies and get straight to an artifact place, or lead a little blind puppy to his pack. Someone hates them, and someone bows before them. They always help some, while others only in critical situations. They say that these are those who lived here even before the first explosion in 86, but they are not people anymore, something completely different. They are some of the enigma of the Zone. They never come into direct contact with anyone, they only flicker among the ruins and trees, like ghosts. Perhaps they have telepathy, as those who met them talked about the voices in their head that were leading them. As experienced stalkers say, marked by the Zone are everywhere, they are the Zone itself.

\"Отмеченные Зоной\" - это и не люди, и не мутанты. Их внешность и духовный мир сильно изменён. Это, как правило, \"посвященные в тайны Зоны\". Некоторые верят, что именно они управляют всеми процессами Зоны - мутантами, аномалиями и даже чем-то более глобальным. Если им не нравится какой-нибудь сталкер или даже мутант, они могут его наказать, или напротив, например, помочь сталкеру выбраться из лабиринта аномалий и попасть прямо в артефактное место, или провести маленького слепого щенка к его стае. Кто-то их ненавидит, а кто-то преклоняется перед ними. Одним они помогают всегда, другим же только в критических ситуациях. Говорят, что это те, кто жил здесь еще до первого взрыва в 86, вот только не люди они больше, что-то совсем другое. Они являются некоторой загадкой Зоны. Они никогда не выходят ни с кем на прямой контакт, только мелькают среди руин и деревьев, как призраки. Возможно, обладают телепатией, так как встретившие их говорили о голосах в своей голове, которые вели их.
