FN SCAR (English: Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle) is a weapon system developed by the American division of the Belgian company FN Herstal for a competition to create a new rifle for USSOCOM fighters in 2004. In December of the same year, this system was declared the winner of the competition and began to be adopted by US Rangers.

SCAR-H is a variant for the powerful 7.62×51 mm NATO cartridge. With minor adjustments, this weapon can use ammunition of other calibers, including the Soviet 7.62x39 mm cartridge. There is even a possibility of using magazines from AK series rifles.

FN SCAR (англ. Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle — боевая штурмовая винтовка для сил специальных операций) — оружейная система, разработанная американским подразделением бельгийской компании FN Herstal для участия в конкурсе на создание нового автомата для бойцов USSOCOM в 2004 году.
