Many people played gta I and many people liked it. But time does not stand still and the game has become outdated in its 20 years. This mod solves this problem by transferring gta I to the renderware engine. This is where the name of the mod comes from.
Grand Theft Auto consists of levels in each city of the game - at each level the player needs to score a certain number of points, in addition, he is given five “lives” attempts.
The player's points are represented in the form of money, which the player can spend, for example, on repainting his cars and other purposes. However, by wasting money, the player proportionally loses the points he has earned, thus delaying the transition to the next level.
Having collected the required number of points, the player must visit a certain place on the map, after which he proceeds to the next level.
The main distinguishing feature of the game is that the player is free to choose: he can freely travel and do whatever he wants. However, to complete the level you need to complete a certain set of missions.
There is also freedom of action in the game's tasks, since usually the player himself chooses the path to a fixed destination. This level of freedom is not typical for most action games; freedom of action, movement and variety of possibilities have become the hallmark of the Grand Theft Auto series and made it one of the most famous and best-selling series in the history of the gaming industry.
The police play a very important role in GTA, limiting the player's actions. To come to the attention of the police, the player only needs to commit several offenses: run over a pedestrian, collide with a police car, start a shootout on the street. In addition, the level of attention can increase from one to four, and the actions of the police towards the player will be more and more aggressive, up to calling special forces.
The goal of the police is to arrest the player, but if their attention level is high enough, then the police pursuing the player may well kill him. If the player is arrested, then he ends up at the police station - without weapons, armor and score multiplier.
There are three ways to get rid of the police:
• Escape from pursuit. It is quite difficult to do this at a high level of police attention.
• Find a “Police Badge” that will reduce your attention level to zero.
• Go to a car repair shop and repaint your car
The game features a huge number of cars, from fast sports cars to slow trucks. Each of them can be stolen by the protagonist of the game. Each car explodes after a certain number of shots from any weapon or after one shot from a grenade launcher. Trucks can withstand 40 pistol shots, cars - 15-20. Some cars also include additional missions and are hidden throughout the city. The cities also have a railway station, which allows the player to quickly get to the desired point in the city (PC version only).
In addition to cars, the player can also ride motorcycles, which are faster and more manageable. Motorcycles have better cross-country ability (they can be used on stairs) and they cannot run over pedestrians. When colliding with another vehicle, the player falls off the motorcycle. Later, motorcycles began to appear in games in the series only starting with vice city.
Grand Theft Auto has seven radio stations, as well as a police radio frequency, that can be heard while the character is in a vehicle, however, only a limited number of these radio stations can be obtained in each vehicle.
The main theme of the game is the musical composition “Gangster Friday” by Craig Conner, which no longer appears on any radio station in the game. However, the soundtracks are listed in the game's appendix.

Многие играли в gta I и многим она понравилась. Но время не стоит на месте и игра за свои 20 лет устарела. Данный мод решает эту проблему перенося gta I на движок renderware. От сюда и название мода.
Grand Theft Auto состоит из уровней в каждом городе игры — на каждом уровне игроку необходимо набрать определённое количество очков, кроме того, ему даются пять «жизней»-попыток.
Количество очков игрока представлено в виде денег, которые игрок может потратить например, на перекраску своих автомобилей и другие цели. Однако, растрачивая деньги, игрок пропорционально теряет и заработанные очки, отдаляя, таким образом, переход на следующий уровень.
Набрав необходимое количество очков, игрок должен посетить определённое место на карте, после чего он переходит на следующий уровень.
Главная отличительная черта игры в том, что игрок свободен в выборе: он может свободно путешествовать и делать всё, что захочет. Игрок при желании может посетить любое место в городе, крушить машины и убивать людей на улицах, красть или продавать дорогие машины. Тем не менее, для прохождения уровня требуется выполнить определённый набор миссий.
В заданиях игры также присутствует свобода действий, так как обычно игрок сам выбирает дорогу к фиксированному пункту назначения. Такой уровень свободы нетипичен для большинства экшн-игр; свобода действия, перемещения и разнообразие возможностей стали визитной карточкой серии Grand Theft Auto и сделали её одной из самых известных и продаваемых серий в истории игровой индустрии.
Полиция занимает очень важное место в GTA, ограничивая игрока в его действиях. Чтобы попасть под внимание полиции, игроку достаточно совершить несколько правонарушений: задавить пешехода, столкнуться с машиной полиции, начать перестрелку на улице. Кроме того, уровень внимания может повышаться с единицы до четырёх, и действия полиции по отношению к игроку при этом будут всё более агрессивными, вплоть до вызова спецназа. Иногда уровень внимания полиции повышается из-за условий взятой миссии (например, во время ограбления банка).
Цель полиции — арестовать игрока, но, если уровень их внимания достаточно высок, то преследующий игрока полицейский вполне может и убить его. Если же игрока арестовывают, то он в конце концов оказывается у полицейского участка — без оружия, брони и множителя очков.
Избавиться от полиции можно тремя способами:
• Сбежать от погони. Сделать это на высоком уровне внимания полиции довольно сложно.
• Найти «Полицейский значок», который снизит уровень внимания до нуля.
• Заехать в автомастерскую и перекрасить машину
В игре представлено огромное количество машин, начиная с быстрых спортивных авто и заканчивая медленными грузовиками. Каждая из них может быть украдена протагонистом игры. Каждый автомобиль взрывается после определённого числа выстрелов из любого оружия или после одного выстрела из гранатомёта. Грузовики выдерживают 40 пистолетных выстрелов, легковушки — 15-20. Легковые автомобили взрываются после нескольких столкновений с грузовиком или лимузином. Некоторые автомобили также включают дополнительные миссии и спрятаны по всему городу. В городах также работает ж/д вокзал, который позволяет игроку быстро добраться до нужной точки города (только PC версия).
Кроме автомобилей, игрок также может передвигаться на мотоциклах, которые более быстрые и управляемые. Мотоциклы имеют лучшую проходимость (на них можно ехать по лестницам) и на них невозможно задавить пешеходов. При столкновении с другим транспортным средством игрок падает с мотоцикла. Позже мотоциклы начали появляться в играх серии только начиная с vice city.
Игра Grand Theft Auto имеет семь радиостанций, а также радиочастоту полиции, которые можно услышать, когда персонаж находится в автомобиле, тем не менее в каждом транспортном средстве можно получить только ограниченное количество этих радиостанций.
Главной темой игры является музыкальная композиция «Gangster Frіday» — Крейга Коннера, которая больше не появляется ни на одной радиостанции игры. За исключением ведущего радио, названия песен на радиостанциях никогда не упоминаются в игре. Тем не менее, саундтреки перечислены в приложении к игре.
