The sixth part of the GTA series will be released in the fall of 2025. Even if there is no postponement, the release will take at least a few more months. If you don’t know what to do during this time, we recommend that you check out our list of great games and movies.

Game — GTA: Vice City

The action of the sixth Grand Theft Auto will unfold in the neon-drenched Vice City. If you want, you can replay the 2002 game. Their stories are not connected with each other, because they belong to different universes. Meanwhile, Vice City has an excellent plot, high-quality gameplay and a thick atmosphere of the 80s. Of course, in the 23 years that have passed since the release date, the game has become noticeably outdated. Therefore, we recommend using the official remaster or a modification that improves the graphics.

You can also pay attention to the prequel Vice City Stories, which is dedicated to the fate of the Vance brothers. However, the game was not re-released on current consoles and PC.

Movie — "Scarface"

The main source of inspiration for GTA: Vice City is the 1983 film "Scarface". It is dedicated to Cuban gangsters who flooded into Miami and actively joined the drug trade. Despite its venerable age, the film is well received even today. Highly recommended.

Game — Mafia: The Definitive Edition

In 2020, the original Mafia received a full-fledged remake. As a result, we have a full-fledged modern game with well-staged shootouts, car chases from the 30s and an excellent plot in the spirit of classic gangster films.

Film — "Stuntmen"

The main plot of the film "Stuntmen" (The Fall Guy) is associated with people who perform stunts on set. At the same time, the film has a lot of shootouts and crazy chases involving cars and boats. Anyone who loves action-packed games should check out the film.

Game — Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs was Ubisoft's attempt to release "its own GTA". The best game in the series was the second part, which was released in 2016. The developers worked on the errors of the original and added more opportunities to hack the city's infrastructure. Otherwise, we have a pleasant GTA clone with well-implemented shooting and trips around sunny San Francisco.

Movie — "Gone in 60 Seconds"

There are many films in world cinema that are dedicated to car theft. In our opinion, the best of them is Gone in 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage. The film is imbued with love for cars and high speeds, so it is watched in one breath.

Game — Sleeping Dogs

The spiritual successor to the True Crime series. You will play as an undercover cop who solves problems with bandits in hand-to-hand combat. Shootouts are also found here, but much less frequently than in the GTA series. In addition, you will have to participate in chases throughout Hong Kong. Moreover, at first they are perceived as unusual due to left-hand traffic.

Movie — "Heat"

If you are interested in robberies and action, pay attention to the film "Heat" from director Michael Mann. This is an intense action movie with well-staged shootouts and charismatic heroes. The main roles are played by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

Game — Mad Max

A high-quality car action game set in a post-apocalyptic setting. Throughout the game, you will upgrade your car — install more powerful engines, armor and various weapons in the spirit of burners and spikes. The game has an open world and hand-to-hand combat, but they are mediocre. It is the battles against other cars at crazy speeds that are the main reason to launch Mad Max.

Movie — "Adrenaline"

Chev Chelios, the main character of this film, behaves like a typical GTA player. He starts fights and shootouts, participates in chases and creates real chaos, just to maintain a high level of adrenaline in the blood. It is simply impossible to take what is happening seriously, but this is not necessary — the film looks like an excellent action comedy. However, we are ready to recommend only the first part. The sequel turned out to be too trashy.

Game — The Saboteur

We sincerely consider this project an underrated masterpiece. It is based on the standard mechanics of GTA 3, but at the same time the game has a number of unique features. Among them are occupied Paris as a location, a combination of stealth-actionwith large-scale shootouts and the ability to achieve your goals in different ways.

It is also important to note that as the capital of France is liberated from enemy troops, the noir black and white color scheme in the spirit of "Sin City" changes to bright colors. And the brutal protagonist, his dialogues and methods make you remember "Inglourious Basterds" by Quentin Tarantino.

Movie — "The Protagonist"

An excellent comedy that is dedicated to a secondary character in a multiplayer game in the spirit of GTA Online. The film raises the issues of server restarts, failed sequels, as well as NPC artificial intelligence. "Free Guy" can be recommended to anyone who is not indifferent to video games.

P.S. There is a movie called Grand Theft Auto. It has nothing to do with the Rockstar series of games, because it was released in 1977. In our opinion, this is a boring comedy that can be safely skipped.
