The Gamechangers is a one-and-a-half-hour film by BBC featuring Daniel Radcliffe (yes, the star of Harry Potter) as one of the co-founders of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser.
The plot of the film is dedicated to the development of the GTA series and the challenges faced by the young and ambitious Sam and Dan Houser on their creative journey. The main issue became the legal battles related to what seemed like an endless series of lawsuits provoked by the relentless lawyer Jack Thompson.
A turning point in this entire story is the case of a teenager who, allegedly after playing video games similar to Grand Theft Auto, grabs a weapon and brutally kills several innocent people. Jack Thompson goes on the offensive, and the Housers have to defend themselves with all their might.

Despite the fact that the events described in the film seem credible, this is not the case. The plot of The Gamechangers was written by a professional screenwriter and has little in common with reality. Neither employees of Rockstar Games nor employees of Take-Two were involved in the creation of the film. And who better than them knows how things really were?
In May 2015, Take-Two was forced to file a lawsuit against BBC due to the fact that the promotional materials for The Gamechangers mentioned registered trademarks of Take-Two. The company feared that mentioning anything related to GTA and Rockstar in The Gamechangers could negatively affect the developers' reputation.
Developers' reaction to The Gamechangers
Rockstar watched the film shortly after its release. Apparently, the developers did not like the film at all. On September 16, Rockstar Games reached out to BBC via Twitter, asking why the company was making such nonsense:
