Einstein, the dog who played Cain in Red Dead Redemption 2, has died. The news of her passing was shared on Instagram by his owner and RDR 2 animator Jason Barnes.
Barnes took Einstein into a shelter when he was just a puppy and trained him as a service dog. Einstein took part in the creation of Red Dead Redemption 2 after Barnes was transferred from Rockstar San Diego to Rockstar's New York office.
Einstein was involved in motion capture for all the dogs in the game, but mainly for the camp's pet, Cain. He is listed first in the credits among the animals involved in the creation of RDR 2.
