Michael Douse, head of publishing at Larian Studios, has shared his thoughts on the recent news that GTA 6 might be priced at $100. Douse discussed rising game prices and suggested that this could lead to fairer wages for developers.

"A good company raises salaries in line with inflation so that their staff don’t die or something, but games prices haven’t risen with inflation. This isn’t the reason the industry is in the shit for now, but it is an uncomfortable truth. On the other hand, the responsibility for a game developer is to make sure that the game they show lives up to that promise, and that investment from the player," Douse wrote.

Douse also acknowledged that not every game could justify such a high price, and in many cases, players would likely wait for discounts. "The point is that perhaps Rockstar have enough clout to lay down the new law. And with that others will sink or swim?" the executive pondered.

Let’s hope Take-Two doesn’t delay GTA 6 and that pre-orders open soon. According to yet another wild theory, the second trailer might drop on January 30.
