Civilization, at Any Price — Red Dead Redemption Mission Walkthrough

In this guide, you will learn how to protect a train used as bait for the opposition in Red Dead Redemption, as well as how to deal with bandits using dynamite.

Reach the previously unknown man — De Santa, marked on the map with the D icon, and watch the cutscene.

You will be greeted with some teasing, but warmly. Captain De Santa will tell you about Abraham Reyes. According to him, all the criminals in Mexico are united under his leadership. The captain is setting a trap for Abraham and invites you to participate in the capture.

After finishing the dialogue, mount your horse and follow De Santa to Chuparosa. Upon reaching the railroad, continue following the captain along the train until Abraham's men appear in your path.

Defend the train from the rebels. If the engine level at the top of the screen runs out, you will fail the mission.

Be careful: the numerical superiority of the enemies exceeds your defense, so use your ammunition wisely and don't expose yourself to bullets.

The train will arrive at Casa Madrugada. Meet De Santa at the station and watch the cutscene. Although you have fended off the rebels, two lurkers were lying in ambush, waiting for you to leave, to hijack the train.

Mount your horse and follow the train again. Inside and on the roof, you will see enemies. Kill them yourself and get on the train to pull the brake. If you don't, there will be a mined bridge ahead, into which the train will fall, and the mission will be considered failed.

By saving the train, you will complete the mission and receive a reward: +50 dollars, +125 points to the Fame parameter, and the privilege Cowboy Fame — you are known in the area, and it is easier for you to persuade the government to turn a blind eye to something.
