On July 23, 2019, the long-awaited opening of the casino took place in GTA Online. Players had been waiting for this for almost six years — since the release of GTA 5 in 2013: at that time, mentions of poker, blackjack, and other gambling games were found in the game files. However, Rockstar Games did not officially announce the appearance of a casino in GTA 5.

In 2015, a leak occurred, according to which the developers planned to release three expansions for GTA Online within a year — GTA 5 Casino DLC, GTA 5 Mansion DLC, and GTA 5 Lowriders DLC. Later, Rockstar Games indeed presented an update with lowriders, but there was no sign of the casino and gambling.

In the following years, the casino with a "Coming Soon" sign continued to attract people's curiosity, and on June 6, 2019, the sign suddenly disappeared, and construction objects appeared around the casino, causing a massive stir among players. A week later, Rockstar confirmed — a casino would finally appear in the game.

After a month of silence, on July 18, Rockstar Games released a trailer that briefly tells us about the casino update in GTA Online, as well as opens the website TheDiamondCasinoAndResort.com

The casino has transformed, becoming much larger, and has changed its name — it is now called Diamond.

Finally, a few days after the trailer's release, we received the long-awaited update — in addition to the casino itself, penthouses, 22 new vehicles, new masks, and other content were added to the game.

The casino can be found on the mini-map with a diamond icon, or you can select it in the GPS menu that opens by pressing the English key M. However, on the first day of the update's release, Rockstar will kindly send you straight to the casino doors immediately after entering the session.

Upon entering, we are greeted by Tom Connors — the head of guest services, who will give us a brief tour. We are also introduced to Agatha Baker, the director of the casino hotel, who will appear in some story missions in the game in the future.

What stands out after entering the casino — besides simple bots, you can meet real players in sessions, watch who is playing what or what activities they are engaged in. Killing and using weapons in the casino is prohibited — therefore, unscrupulous players will not be able to create chaos here.

First of all, you need to obtain a casino membership — this can be done at the reception with Tom Connors. By paying a symbolic $500, you will also receive a bonus of 5000 chips, which you can use to start playing games.

With the "Diamond Casino & Resort" update, a new type of property has appeared — the penthouse. Currently, this is the most luxurious and multifunctional type of property. The penthouse allows access to the VIP areas of the casino and opens a new storyline in GTA Online. You can also add unique items purchased from the store located in the casino to the penthouse. There is a bar in the casino where you can buy a variety of drinks. The most expensive of them — Bleuter'd Diamond, costs 150 thousand GTA$. It can be shaken and then poured everywhere.

In your apartments, you can use the following phone services: buy chips, host a private party (more on this below), use valet services, cleaning services, call a limousine or a personal helicopter.

For 20,000 GTA$, you can host a private party and invite your friends. It will take place on a separate floor of the casino hotel. There is a bar on the floor and you can play the mini-game "Street Crime: Gang Wars" with your friends.
