The creator of the first GTA received an award for his contribution to the gaming industry

Mike Dailly, one of the founders of Rockstar North and a developer of the first GTA, was honored with an award for outstanding achievements in the video game industry at Scottish Game Week 2023. Chris Sawyer and Paul Farley were also contenders for the award, with the latter having also worked on the original GTA.
«Many thanks to whoever voted for me, I was convinced @paulfarley was gonna get it, but overjoyed to be wrong», — the developer wrote on his X (Twitter) page.
Mike created the game engine for the first GTA and also contributed to the development of the second installment. Afterward, he left the company. Since January 2021, Dailly has been working as a lead programmer at Sumo Digital.
