Filmed in GTA Online to be shown in cinemas around the world

GTA Online players' creativity reaches a whole new level. Streaming service Mubi has acquired the rights to a film shot in the game for broadcast around the world.
We are talking about the documentary Grand Theft Hamlet, filmed by two directors Pinny Grylls and Sam Crane. The short film tells the story of two unemployed actors trying to stage William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet inside GTA. By the way, the film was presented at the South by Southwest festival, where it won the jury prize for best documentary.
The film was bought by the streaming service Mubi, which distributes arthouse content. Now the owner of the rights intends to release Grand Theft Hamlet in 2025 in cinemas around the world. The locations are still being clarified.
Earlier, a trailer for a new GTA Online event dedicated to Halloween was released.
