Rockstar has begun to seriously combat cheaters in GTA Online
It looks like GTA Online will soon introduce new rules: Rockstar Games not only released a new active anti-cheat, but also banned those players who managed to bypass it. Many gamers were caught in the wave of bans.
The studio recently released the BattlEye anti-cheat, which significantly reduced the number of mod menu users. After that, one of the most popular free cheat programs stopped working. And then numerous bans followed — judging by the screenshot from one of the scammers' Discord servers, Rockstar is in earnest. All cheaters who were purged later received a letter notifying them of a permanent ban for violating the terms of service. Mostly, those who managed to bypass BattlEye's protection were caught in the wave.
Of course, these measures affected innocent players, but there is good news here too — Rockstar Games has updated its ban policy and is now considering player requests to remove the ban.
Meanwhile, GTA Online has received the first patch fixing problems with the anti-cheat. However, it has not yet been possible to fix the problem due to which the game does not launch on Steam Deck.
Earlier, a new weekly event with bonuses and rewards started in GTA Online.
