Rockstar Games' official position

The company is busy preparing for the announcement and release of GTA 6. For this reason we are unlikely to hear about the announcement of GTA 5 on Android any time soon. However if they do, we'll update this material as soon as possible.

Insider's opinion

Insiders have no definite opinion about GTA 5 release on Android. But there are a lot of rumors about GTA San Andreas: The Definitive Edition porting to mobile devices. Presumably, the game is being developed by Grove Street Games and its release is scheduled for 2023.

Fan ports

A modder assian announced his ported version of GTA 5 to Android in 2017. He only ported basic elements of the game and unfortunately discontinued further development, as he could not handle the amount of work alone.

How to play GTA 5 on Android and iOS in 2023

There is one way to play GTA 5 on your phone, if you want to. But in order to do that you need to buy the game from Steam.
We're talking about the Steam Link app, which allows you to stream the game to your phone or TV. Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to run GTA 5 on your phone:

Tap the "Start Play" button;
Wait until your Steam library is displayed;
