Media: GTA 6 release will not be affected by the voice actors' strike
It seems that fears about GTA 6 being postponed to 2026 due to the actors' strike turned out to be unfounded. According to the SAG-AFTRA union agreement, only those games whose production began after August 2023 will be affected.
According to Eurogamer, the releases of such projects as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Grand Theft Auto 6, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Dragon Age: The Veilguard and some games-as-services are completely safe. Journalists cited a comment from union representatives, which clearly stated that, according to the rules, games whose production began before August 25, 2023 (according to other sources — 2022) are not affected by the strike. The same was confirmed by representatives of gaming companies.
Recall that the SAG-AFTRA strike against game studios began today due to inappropriate contract terms for voice actors and motion capture.
Earlier, a former Rockstar developer said that GTA 6 is unlikely to be a technological breakthrough in the series.
