Rockstar: GTA 6 leak cost the company 5 million dollars

A year ago, Rockstar faced one of the biggest leaks in history — gameplay footage and details of GTA 6, as well as thousands of lines of the game's source code, were leaked online. Yesterday, the main hacker, 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj, was sentenced to mandatory treatment in a hospital.
Rockstar attended the last hearing, where they reported the consequences of the hack. According to the company's representatives, the leak cost them 5 million dollars and thousands of hours of staff time. However, no other details were provided.
It seems that the leak did not have a significant impact on the hype around GTA 6. The trailer shown in December became one of the main events of the year and has already garnered over 150 million views. The game's release is scheduled for 2025.
