Thanks to the first official GTA 6 video, we already know a lot about the future project. We know its setting, main characters, vehicles, weapons and some game mechanics. And the most attentive fans of the series discovered many Easter eggs. In this article we have collected the most interesting secrets and easter eggs of GTA 6.

Characters

If in the fifth part we played for three heroes, then in GTA 6 two protagonists await us — a guy named Jason and his girlfriend Lucia. Most likely, a crime story in the spirit of the films about Bonnie and Clyde will unfold before us. We saw the main character in prison, learned that she was released on parole and took part in the robbery of the Uncle Jack's Liquor store. There is an assumption that the hot blonde in a white bikini is also Lucia, but in different circumstances.

During news broadcasts on MegaMundo News, you may notice a criminal with purple hair. The text line claims that he was identified precisely by his tattoos. Similar cases happened in real life. For example, in 2018, thanks to characteristic tattoos, the yakuza leader Shigeharu Shirai, who had been searched for 14 years, was identified.

The guy in the trailer is based on Lawrence Sullivan, also known as the Florida Joker. The guy did not give permission to use his image and is now demanding monetary compensation from Rockstar. We told more about this story in separate article.

Other people from the newscasts also have real-life prototypes.

A girl who dances twerk on the hood of a car.

Woman with two hammers.

Naked gardener.

A man at a gas station.

Organizations that operate in Vice City

The trailer mentions a lot of acronyms and names of specific organizations. Full list:

  • VCPD — Vice City Police Department;
  • VDPD — Vice Dale Police Department;
  • KCPD — Kelly County Police Department;
  • OBPD — Ocean Beach Police Department;
  • PGPD — Port Gellhorn Police Department;

Surely many of them will play an important role in the plot of the game.

Other details we paid attention to

Games in the GTA series have always been distinguished by a well-developed open world. And the sixth part is no exception. Apparently, the developers decided to surprise us with realism and attention to detail. Something similar happened in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Open world design:

  • Birds can land on power lines;
  • Flying planes leave a contrail in the sky;
  • The surface of the sea water changes depending on the wind;
  • On the shore you can see the difference between wet and dry sand;
  • Clouds in the sky change color depending on the lighting of the city;
  • Seaweed floats near the shore;
  • The roofs of the rescue booths are stylized to resemble fruits — pineapples, oranges, limes and lemons;
  • After an accident, police cordon off the area where the accident occurred using special warning tapes. Other drivers drive around this area;
  • Security cameras actually record in real time;
  • You can see working televisions inside the houses;
  • Advertising has returned in the form of banners that float in the air;
  • On one of the walls you can see graffiti with the inscription “Ravens”. Perhaps this is the name of one of the gangs in Vice City;
  • Cargo ships will move in real time;
  • The inscription “The United States of Paranoia” appears on dollar bills. Similar files were in GTA V and the original Vice City;
  • You can see a broken handle on one of the cars, which is screwed to the door with adhesive tape;
  • Airships float in the air and are used to spy on criminals;
  • The sign at Uncle Jack's Liquor says "Download our app for even quicker liquor";
  • One of the advertisements states that the store no longer accepts cash stored in underwear;
  • On the door of the store you can see a poster with a criminal from Red Dead Redemption 2.

Non-player characters (NPC):

  • Each NPC has its own unique physique, skin color and clothing;
  • For the first time in the history of the GTA series, characters will walk not only alone, but also in entire groups;
  • Non-player characters can do many things: check their smartwatches, listen to music on wireless headphones, apply sunscreen to each other, walk the dogs, use the grill, or treat friends to drinks;
  • Each NPC has his own things: glasses, towels, bags, bottles of lotions and much more;
  • Characters leave footprints in the sand and get dirty themselves, and the slates have their own physics;
  • The pupils of NPC eyes may dilate in low light;
  • Non-player characters fill up their cars with gasoline;
  • NPC phones have full screens and functioning cameras;
  • One of the cars in the trailer is driven by a ghost;
  • Some NPCs will have hairstyles with two different colors;
  • The old lady’s fingers move realistically when she clutches a hammer in her hand;
  • In one of the scenes, the character does not open the car door completely, so as not to accidentally hit a passing car;
  • The sun cream that one of the girls uses has an SPF protection rating of 8-14;
  • The crotch-grabbing redneck wears a T-shirt that says “In Leonida We Bite Back”;
  • Some NPCs have noticeable armpit hair and tattoos, including on the buttocks;
  • On one of the billboards you can see a guy who is wanted for sniffing panties;
  • Characters can shoot a music video from two different cameras;
  • Some NPCs wear grills, special teeth coverings;
  • Athletes sweat during exercise.

Main characters:

  • When Jason drifts the car, Lucia holds on to the frame so as not to fall out. At the same time, her chair moves slightly to the side by inertia;
  • Lucia wears a special GPS tracker on her ankle, which is used if a person is released on parole. Perhaps because of this, early in the game we will not be able to leave a certain area of Vice City;
  • In Lucia's cell you can see a photo of her family. In addition, Spanish moss grows on the walls;
  • The seat of Lucia's car has light scuffs like real old seats;
  • Jason has a shaving scar and his ear is pierced twice;
  • Jason's bracelet features the logo of the band Love Fist, which appeared in GTA: Vice City;
  • You may be able to customize the length and color of your nails. This seems especially true for Lucia.

Interaction with the game world:

  • Fences and other barriers can be broken in accordance with the laws of physics;
  • Car side mirrors actually show what's behind them;
  • During fast driving, the tires of cars are slightly deformed;
  • You may notice drops of condensation on the exhaust pipes;
  • As the characters move, clothing wrinkles and follows the contours of the body;
  • The game will feature new social networks with video content in the spirit of TikTok and YouTube. There are also hints at in-game streams;
  • When Lucia kicks the door open, you can see dust rising into the air;
  • Headlights on older cars that use incandescent bulbs do not light up immediately and take some time to go out. LEDs turn on and off instantly;
  • You can see several stickers on the bumper of Jason's car. There is a possibility that similar tuning will be available to players;
  • On the dusty trunk you can see traces of the hands of the main characters. There will probably be car washes in the game;
  • The store has fishing gear. Perhaps fishing will be one of the available mechanics in the game;
  • In the strip club you can see the sign “Make it rain on Mondays!” (Make It Rain Mondays). It is possible that some activities in the game will be tied to the day of the week;
  • Car Meet mechanics from GTA Online will appear in the sixth part. We are talking about meetings of car enthusiasts who show off their pumped-up “cars”;
  • Near the entrance to the island there is a point for accepting money. Perhaps the mechanics of tolls on certain sections of the road will return to the game. Let us remember that something similar happened in GTA 4.

Interesting fact:

  • The song Love is a Long Road by Tom Petty is considered one of the most underrated in the singer’s work. This is what Rockstar used in the trailer. As a result, the number of listens to the song increased 370 times.

About the official art:

  • GTA 6 art is stylized after the movie “Queen & Slim”;
  • On the art you can see a possible map of the game world. It's noticeably different from the one we saw in the leaked 2022 version;
  • The car in the art has hit holes that exactly replicate the bullet holes in Bonnie and Clyde's car

Technical features of the game

Thanks to the trailer, we can draw preliminary conclusions about the technologies that will be used in GTA 6.

  • The game resolution is 1440p, sometimes it will drop a little. The image refresh rate is 30 frames per second. Please note that we are talking about console versions of GTA 6;
  • For realistic reflections, ray tracing (RT) is used together with server rendering (SSR);
  • Shadows are made in the traditional way, without ray tracing;
  • The game uses FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology. It is used to increase the resolution of objects on higher quality monitors and TVs in real time;
  • The use of RTGI technology is noticeable, which creates a more realistic picture.
