Former Rockstar Games cinematographer Joe Rubino shared new details about the canceled Agent Trevor expansion for GTA 5. In a recent interview, he revealed that the DLC was shelved due to the unexpected success of the online mode.

Rubino played a key role in the creation of Agent Trevor. The team managed to complete half of the work, but the company believed that the DLC would not be as popular as GTA Online.

"When GTA Online came out, it was so much of a cash cow and people were loving it so much that it was hard to make an argument that a stand-alone DLC would out-compete that. I think looking back now, I would say that we could probably do both, you know, but that was a business decision that they made, and you know I was a little upset about that."

Rubino added that working in Rockstar's New York office was so secretive that employees had to go through three levels of security.

The Agent Trevor expansion was supposed to tell the story of Steven Ogg's character, who began working with the FBI after the events of the original game. Previously, a track recorded for the DLC was found online.
