GTA 6 Publisher Claims Game Prices Should Be Determined by Its Length
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested that companies should change their approach to game pricing. He believes that the time spent on completing a game should directly affect its cost.
«The algorithm is the value of the expected entertainment usage, which is to say that the per-hour value times the number of expected hours plus the terminal value that’s perceived by the customer in ownership», Zelnick believes. It's scary to think how much GTA 5 could cost, considering some gamers spend thousands of hours on it.
The executive noted that it's unlikely gaming companies will take such a radical step. He also added that such a view on pricing policy makes Take-Two's games some of the most profitable offers on the market.
We still don't know how much GTA 6 will cost. Most likely, the new Rockstar game will cost $70.
